I hope you had a chance to check out all the fabulous pillow projects from yesterday’s Create & Share post (and GIVEAWAY)! That was such a bright spot in what has been an otherwise dull week. 🙂

I hate to tell you this, but I made exactly NO progress on my bathroom makeover up until yesterday! I’ve been sick with pneumonia for two weeks, and Wednesday evening was the first day I had the energy for any serious DIYing.

But, I am pleased to say that my to-do list for the One Room Challenge is beginning to look a little less onerous.

(By the way if you need to catch up on my plans for the ORC, hosted by Calling it Home, you can find Week 1 here and Week 2 here.)

Master Bathroom To-Do List!

  • Prep walls for painting
  • Prime walls and doors (Free – thanks mom and dad!)
  • Paint ceiling white (Free)
  • Paint walls and doors Ben Moore’s “Pink Damask” ($46)
  • Buy shower curtain ($20)
  • Buy towels
  • Buy bath mat
  • Buy or make towel hooks
  • Spray paint or replace hand towel rack
  • Replace curtain rod
  • Install short curtain rod and clear curtain over window in shower
  • Frame out mirror
  • Paint vanity
  • Paint inside of linen cupboard
  • Organize linen cupboard
  • Organize vanity
  • Accessories (So far: $10)
  • Hang art (we have it all framed and ready to go!) (Frames $20)
  • Buy and install new light fixture

I wish I could show you the in-progress pictures for the vanity and cupboard but the paint is still curing on them so I can’t put the doors and drawers back together just yet! In other news, paint does not dry faster just ’cause you have a blog post to get out. 🙁 #thisistherealworld

Since this post would look pretty sad and dejected without any images, I’ve rounded up some of the options for lighting. I’ll be honest and say that I’m pretty stumped for lighting right now. All these light fixtures have such totally disparate styles to them… And I’m a little lost. I’m also restricted by my $300 (total!) budget, of course.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts. Here’s my initial inspiration board, to give you an idea of where I’m coming from.

Oh! And thanks for all your helpful suggestions and comments regarding framing out the mirror! I really appreciate you weighing in on that. I think we’ll be going with simple white framing… Sort of a combination of Option 1 and 2, if you remember them from last week.

Thanks so much for sticking with me. I hope that by next week’s ORC installment, I’ll have a handle on the direction for the styling of this bathroom.

In exciting family news, I get to see my parents’ new house for the first time this weekend! REALLY looking forward to it. Great times are ahead…

Have a good weekend, all!
