Happy Friday, gang! We made it to the end of the week. Yahoo! I feel like I’ve had a pretty productive week, actually. I started working on refinishing our front door (the paint was peeling something fierce) and I also started a little sewing project for fall. We’ll see how that one turns out… Quebec teachers are having one heck of a time with our contract negotiations, so it was DIY therapy amidst all the political and professional upheaval. 🙂

I can’t wait for this weekend because I’m attending the Etsy Fait au Québec fair in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. It’s basically this artisany-loving, DIY-ing blogger’s dream. Tonnes of awesome Canadian Etsy vendors under the same roof… Yup, that’s the dream.

So I thought I’d share a couple of artisans I’ll be on the lookout for this weekend!

First up is Virginie Martin Studio, who creates lovely silver jewelry. I particularly like this freshwater pearl necklace in the shape of a flower.

Au bout du rang is another shop I’ll be watching for. I love these handmade ceramic paisley bowls!! Erick, are you listening? Christmas is around the corner… I’m kind of curious how they make them, because I would love to try printing some ceramic items in time for gift-giving. Again, it is on my « some day » DIY list.

These cutting and serving boards from Smoking Wood would be absolutely fantastic for a Thanksgiving meal, laden with a gorgeous array of charcuterie and cheeses. Oh how I love a good charcuterie plate.

I’m not one for baths, but I know some people who are, so I know exactly who I’ll be shopping for! These bath salts from Dot and Lil sound like perfect gifts.

If you are in the Montreal area, I really encourage you to check out the Fait au Québec fair in Saint-Jean. The event also includes lots of cool workshops, so if you are a DIYer this is definitely an event for you. If you happen to read this and are attending (as a vendor or as a shopper), please say « hi »! I’d love to meet in real life!

By the way, these fairs are happening all over Canada on Saturday! There are so many communities participating: be sure to check if there’s a fair going on in your town.

Have a happy weekend and see you back here next week!
