The return to school is very much on our minds these days. Our daughter is starting her first week of daycare on Monday (yikes!) and I return to teaching after my year of maternity leave in just two weeks. It’s a bittersweet time in our home: we know that K will love daycare and socializing with other children her age, and I am beyond excited to go back to work, but I will definitely miss my days at home with her. Still, change is inevitable and it is most often followed by new adventures. Today’s Spectacular Summer Blog Hop post from The No-Pressure Life celebrates just that: the excitement and freshness of a new school year. Laura will show you how to make a simple back-to-school photo prop that you can make in just a few minutes.
I’m actually thinking of making something similar for my classroom this year. It’s always fun to celebrate students’ achievements and it would be so useful to have a prop like this that I could change up for each photo.
I’ve really been enjoying Laura’s blog this summer, and it’s been fun getting to know her virtually. Here’s a bit more about her…
If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
Telekinesis! Then I could organize my whole house while sitting on the couch with a glass of wine.
[Clearly, Laura and I need to be friends in real life.]
What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
Pretty sure I teared up at the end of « Beauty and the Beast »!
