Montreal Old Port Wedding | Elegant and timeless ballroom wedding at the Hotel Place D'Armes in Montreal's historic old port | Flourish & Knot | Montreal wedding florist | Wedding party in champagne with bouquets of roses in a warm neutral palette

Stephanie and Mike first contacted us in 2020 to design their wedding florals, not knowing that their September 2021 wedding would become an August 2022 wedding. Their tented Montreal wedding took place at the Chapiteau le Cardinal, and it was a total dream to design!

We created an epic ceremony WOW moment with a curving floral “ground arch”, completely designed using foam-free mechanics. It featured local gladiolas and chrysanthemums, alongside beautiful roses and delphinium.

The wedding party was such a fun group (one of the bridesmaids was a former Flourish & Knot bride herself!). The bridesmaids wore pale blue dresses and carried garden-style bouquets in Stephanie and Mike’s pale pink, peach, lavender, and white palette. Stephanie’s bouquet was ultra-romantic, with trailing ivy, delicate pennycress, and beautiful, bountiful blooms, tied off with an exquisite pale blue silk ribbon from The Maple Den. We kept the boutonnieres understated, and co-ordinated with the bouquets.

One of my favourite elements was the incredible tree installation we created at the entrance to the reception! It was created using real – yes, real – beech trees from our property. And not to worry: we chose ones that needed to come down to make more growing room for other trees! Tables were a mixture of long rectangles and rounds, with three styles of centrepieces: lush floral compotes, elevated tree-inspired arrangements of foliages, and whimsical bud vases. The ceremony ground arch pulled double-duty and became – don’t tell anyone – one of my favourite sweetheart table designs of 2022.

In addition to designing Mike and Stephanie’s florals and accessories, we also had the pleasure of co-ordinating their wedding through our Event Management services. It felt so incredible to know that we were able to take such good care of them throughout their wedding day.

“We were absolutely blown away with everything Sarah and her team did to make our wedding day even more beautiful than we ever imagined. Every detail that Sarah curated was breathtaking. The ground arch she created for our ceremony had me in tears after talking about it with her for the last two years. Sarah was present through all of our wedding planning, and really made us feel like she truly cared about our day and was not just there for a profit.
Several people expressed how much they loved the florals at our wedding. It’s not only her talent to bring a beautiful vision to life, but also her dedication, attention to detail, professionalism, and passion for what she does that make her a true pleasure to work with.
We loved Sarah so much, we booked her event manager, Kim, to be our wedding coordinator. Kim was fantastic to work with, she was instrumental to keeping the day running smoothly and allowed my husband and I to feel like we were guests at our own wedding and really enjoy it.
Sarah, we cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve done to make our wedding day as magical as it was. It was truly better than we ever imagined.” – Stephanie & Mike
