Emma & Frazer’s sumptuous Montreal Racket Club wedding took place on the snowiest December day, just a week before Christmas. It was planned to perfection by Rebecca of Simplement Nous, and we were really given free reign to create a luxurious wedding floral look for our couple, with an Old-World, Downton-Abbey-esque feel. All of the beautiful details were captured by Cremeux Photo.
The wedding party florals were simple and elegant. Emma carried a bouquet of winter foliages, navy eryngium (a nod to Frazer’s Scottish heritage), delcate paperwhites, and a touch of mistletoe. We finished both her bouquet and Frazer’s boutonniere with tartan ribbon in the Fraser tartan.
The candlelit ceremony took place at Christ Church Cathedral, right in the heart of downtown Montreal. The surrounding area was all lit up for Christmas, and the imposing church was transformed into a romantic, intimate ceremony space with dozens and dozens of candles. We designed two beautiful altar pieces, featuring stunning amaryllis.
The reception took place at the Montreal Racket Club. What a fun space it was to flower! It was more like decorating a stately home for the holidays than a traditional wedding. We made stair swags of berries and evergreens, created arrangements in the Club’s vintage silver trophies (this was SO fun!!), designed a grandiose wooden mantel inspired by Mrs. Patmore’s Downtown Abbey kitchen, complete with dried citrus and burnished lanterns, and worked closely with planner Rebecca to bring the look together through linens and other rentals.
