Montreal Old Port Wedding | Elegant and timeless ballroom wedding at the Hotel Place D'Armes in Montreal's historic old port | Flourish & Knot | Montreal wedding florist | Wedding party in champagne with bouquets of roses in a warm neutral palette

One of our first events of 2022 was also one of my favourite designs of the year! Rachel of Le Marais Event Design came to us with the most gorgeous vision and design brief for a luxurious and refined French toile birthday celebration, filled with blue-and-white linen, delightful swan-themed details, and luxe floral-focused arrangements. Intimate celebrations are my happy place because we really get to dive deep into detail, rather than try to flower 20 tables on an unrealistic budget (did I say that out loud?).

Rachel of Le Marais was a total dream to work with, providing exactly the right amount of clear artistic direction, while allowing us the freedom to do our thing! Hyper-organized, easy to work with, and totally kind and friendly. She’s a gem.

Fun story: a tornado ripped through the area the night before this party, and when we arrived to set up there was still no power in the neighbourhood. Everyone pulled together, came up with brilliant solution after brilliant solution, and the show went on!

The design featured a lush floral runner of babies’ breath, roses, ranunculus, carnations, and fragrant stock (all made without floral foam in recyclable mechanics), as well as a show-stopping floral cake nest and co-ordinating smaller nest for the custom cocktail menu. The birthday girl’s high chair was accented with a whimsical babies’ breath garland.

The event was captured beautifully by Tsikimamy Photography.
