I’ve been looking forward to this post for a while now. Today, I am joining 23 other bloggers to share an outdoor tablescape with you. Outdoor entertaining is one of the great pleasures of summer, and we so enjoy eating on our deck as frequently as possible. Coming from the land of ice and snow (*har har* we don’t all actually live in igloos here in Canada), I think we appreciate the good weather even more! I created this tablescape to feature my DIY block-printed napkins, so I went with a bright, global, and fresh turquoise and orange palette.
Special thanks to Chloe from Celebrate & Decorate for hosting and organizing this hop! She’s done a great job getting us all ready for this event.
My tablescape is simple and fresh, with a preppy turquoise and orange palette. I made use of pieces I already had on hand, and you might recognize the cheerful charger plates from last year’s outdoor look.
The flowers in the small centrepiece are orange day lilies from my garden. I added some greenery that I also had growing in my own backyard. One of summer’s pleasures is picking fresh flowers from the garden, no?
The little cobalt blue vase is something I’ve had for years and years (since I was a kid, in fact). I have idea where it came from, but I just love the intense colour.
The lacey votive holders are leftovers from my wedding. I can’t bear to part with them because they are just so pretty! I kept things simple for the place settings themselves, because I firmly believe that outdoor dining should be an un-fussy experience. I added a little touch of whimsy with the scattered green and turquoise glass rocks. Couldn’t resist how shiny and pretty they look!
The charger plates were a great Loblaws find last year. I’m a sucker for bright colours, especially turquoise and coral.
Of course I love how my block-printed napkins get a leading role in this tablescape. They were such a fun and easy DIY!
I hope you’ll take some time to peruse the other participants’ beautiful al fresco tablescapes. As we reach the mid-point of summer, there is some truly lovely inspiration to be had for your outdoor entertaining. Maybe you’ll be inspired to give your al fresco dining table a little makeover this weekend?

Sarah, love your use of turquoise and orange! Your table has a wonderful global feel, you captured it perfectly! I can tell you feel an ease about entertaining and that always make guests feel comfortable and welcomed! Beautiful presentation! Have a lovely Thursday, Pam @ Everyday Living
Thank you so much, Pam. I do love entertaining! Doing less of it these days, with the new baby, of course… But soon!
Sarah, I agree with you that outdoor dining should be unfussy! Your napkins are beautiful, and so are those chargers. You & I have very similar color schemes going in this roundup. All the best to you with your latest bundle. I know rest (preferably in the form of sleep) is a precious commodity for you right now – take it when you can!
Rita C at Panoply
Thank you so much, Rita! Looking forward to seeing your tablescape!
Great looking tablescape. I love your colors. I have serious aqua tablecloth envy. Where did you find your aqua cloth? I think you did a great job on your table. Your plates and great napkins, flowers and setting are so inviting.
I’m amazed you have just had a baby and blog hopping with us. Congratulations.
Ooooh that was a find from several years ago at a Canadian store called Zone Maison. It might be by Umbra, though. They carry that line…
I love love the colors on your table, {being a huge lover of turquoise!} and those chargers are fabulous!! Love the cobalt and orange napkins, and of course your beautiful hand stamped napkins! Congrats on your new baby! I can’t believe you did all this and had a baby too 🙂
Jenna
Thanks so much, Jenna! I’ll be honest and tell you I photographed it all the week before she arrived… 🙂
What an inviting table! And it has been interesting to read the blogs by others, to see how people are “interpreting” the theme! Great use of colour, everyone!
Thanks so much, Linda! Glad you enjoyed the hop!
I love your combination of vibrant colors of aqua, cobalt blue and orange. Beautiful colors for an outdoor setting. Your tablescape has such a Mexican Riviera feel. It is like visiting Cancun without leaving my home.
Funny you should say that! I guess its a subconscious sway towards a Mexican vibe… My husband is from Mexico City. 🙂
Sarah, this is so refreshing! I love your color scheme and the vase of flowers. I NEED that cobalt blue vase! The napkins are lovely, too. Great job!
Thank you, Kim. I agree: cobalt ANYTHING is fabulous.
Your turquoise and orange tablescape is so pretty – great colour combo and I like the pop of cobalt blue with the little vase. The floral chargers add just the right amount of pattern and look great with the white plates on top. The flowers you picked for your centerpiece coordinate so well with the items on your table. Looks like you have a lovely setting to enjoy your alfresco meals with some beautiful lush trees beyond – so inviting! This blog hop has been a lot of fun participating in and “hopping” to see everyone’s outdoor tables and I’m glad I got to visit here.
Thanks, Lori! I think the cobalt vase might be my favourite part ,too.
P.S. I also wanted to say, as a fellow Canadian, I love your comments about our weather and that we don’t live in igloos! 🙂
Hahaha Lori. Too true.
The tables look so Amazing! The touches of polished rock gives it a organic feel. Such a pretty post! Hope you are having a fun time with the baby, congrats again
Maria
Thank you, Maria!
Love the pairing of warm oranges and reds with blues–just gorgeous. The stones on the table convey such a sense of peace. You have created such beauty!
Thank you so much. I love my bright colours!
Those napkins are beautiful, you are so creative! I love the color of your tablecloth, it looks like a pool of water with those precious gems tossed on it. Those chargers are beautiful! I love the floral pattern and the colors! Thank you so much for being a part of the tablescape blog hop!
Thank you, Chloe! It was a great hop – thanks so much for organizing it!
How pretty and colorful! Sheila
Thanks, Sheila!
Great color palette! The plates and napkins are really pretty! Enjoy your beautiful, nice weather! 🙂 ~Rhonda
Thanks, Rhonda!
This is a very pretty table setting!! Colorful, cheerful, tasteful. I particularly love the glass rocks and the lace votives!!
Thank you very much, Lory!
Love the orange and blue combo on your table. The napkins look cute in the glasses. I lvoe that mini orange floral centerpiece too!
Thank you so much, Emily!
Sarah, I love your centerpiece blue jar. That’s so special to have had it for so long. I can’t wait to check out your block letter DIY for your napkins. I’ve never thought of using turquoise and coral. I hope that you are cooler in Canada than we are in Dallas. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful table.
Nope, I don’t think we’re any cooler… It’s been beastly hot the past two days. Expecting thunderstorms, so maybe that will help!
Your table is lovely. Loving the color of the tablecloth. Your block printed napkins are so pretty. What a great idea! Pretty little chargers too with their bright colors. The day lilies are so pretty and they make a great centerpiece. I hope you are getting some rest. It was fun hopping with you.
Thank you so much, Linda. I’m trying to rest as much as I can… Not always easy, but we’re doing ok. 🙂

Such a beautiful tablescape! I am so in love with that color blue. Just gorgeous!
Thank you, Michelle!
